Ejecting the Spirit of Fear: Be Free From Anxiety!
Hey everyone! It's Jeromiah here, and today, I want to dive into something we all deal with at some point—fear. Fear is sneaky, and it tries to show up when we’re least prepared. But here’s the good news: we don’t have to live with it. God’s given us everything we need to kick fear out of our lives for good.
Recognize Fear, Then Reject It
Let’s be real—fear has a way of creeping in and trying to take over. It can make us doubt, worry, and even freeze up. But here’s the thing: fear isn’t from God. In 2 Timothy 1:7, we’re reminded that “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.” So, when fear comes knocking, we’ve got to recognize it for what it is—a spirit that doesn’t belong in our lives—and reject it with everything we’ve got.
Ejecting Fear Like an Ejector Seat
Now, let’s talk about how we get rid of fear. Think of fear as an unwanted passenger in your life. When things get rough, you’ve got to hit that eject button and toss fear right out. Just like an ejector seat in an airplane that’s there to get you to safety, ejecting fear is about making the decision to remove it before it can take root and mess with your peace.
A Powerful Testimony: Faith Over Fear
I’ve got to share a story that really hits this point home. My son, Elijah, is a living testimony of what it means to choose faith over fear. One day, after school, we let our dogs out to play. Our smaller dog, Joey, ended up having a serious accident—he fell and broke his neck. It was a terrifying situation, and fear could have easily taken over. But Elijah didn’t let it.
Instead of giving in to fear, Elijah started praying. He prayed hard, believing that God would heal Joey. When I joined in faith with him and encouraged him to believe he received what he prayed for right then, something amazing happened. By the time we got Joey to the vet, despite the severity of the injury, Joey was on his way to recovery. The vet was shocked—Joey’s neck was barely holding together, yet he was fine. That’s the power of choosing faith over fear.
God Moves When Fear Moves Out
Here’s something I want you to remember: God doesn’t help us so we won’t worry; He helps us because we don’t worry. When we stand firm in our faith, refusing to give in to fear, we make room for God to do what only He can do. Just like with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the fiery furnace, when we stand our ground and say, “I’m not bowing to fear,” God shows up in powerful ways.
Reject Fear and Choose Faith
The enemy wants to use fear to mess with every area of your life. If you let him in one part, he’ll try to take over everything. But here’s the deal—fear is a choice, and so is faith. When you choose faith, you’re slamming the door on fear and saying, “Not today, devil.” That’s how you keep walking in the victory God has given you.
Stay in Faith
So, what’s the takeaway? When fear tries to sit down in your life, hit that eject button and throw it out. Stand firm in your faith, just like Elijah did when he prayed for Joey, and trust that God’s got you. Remember, no matter the fight, you were born to win. With God on your side, fear doesn’t stand a chance. Keep choosing faith, and keep living in the victory that’s already yours.
God bless!
